Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network
The Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network" (RTRN)
Created on August 13, 2001, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation.
RTRN alongside with the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (RTR), Channel One, the Ostankino Television Center and the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) constitutes the basis of the state television and radio broadcasting system in Russia.
RTRN is a natural monopoly in the field of telecommunications. The enterprise provides terrestrial transmission of television channels and radio stations broadcasting over the territory of the Russian Federation.
In the 2010s RTRN deployed a digital terrestrial television (DTT) network — the largest operating broadcasting network in the world. It consists of 5051 transmitting stations and provides 98,6% of the Russian population with guaranteed public access to 20 must-carry public TV channels and three radio stations.
RTRN’s infrastructure is used for implementation of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation".
Telecommunication services of RTRN’s radio and television broadcasting transmission centers are used by 1,5 thousand clients including state-owned and commercial broadcasting companies, communications providers, regional administrations and local governments.
